UNS – The Chairman of the Council of Rector of Indonesian State University (CRISU), currently also serves as the Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, answers the questions from netizens regarding the Computer-Based Writing Exams (UTBK) in New Normal era. The answers to all the questions were delivered through UNS Podcast: ‘Kanvas’ entitled ‘Implementation of the UTBK 2020 in the New Normal Era’ on Thursday (25/6/2020) afternoon.
In the podcast that was broadcasted live through the Official UNS Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube channel, at first Prof. Jamal address the consideration taken by LTMPT in implementing the UTBK during the New Normal condition.
“The Principle given by the Ministry (ed: Kemendikbud RI), is to maintain the health and safety of the prospective participants, committee, supervisor, and family members. There must be no new clusters due to UTBK,” explains Prof. Jamal.
Since Wednesday (24/6/2020) afternoon, UNS has opened the opportunity for citizens to ask questions through the questions column on the official Instagram account of UNS. One of the questions being asked is related to what attributes need to be worn and obeyed by the participants during the UTBK 2020.
In accordance with the provision given by the Kemendikbud RI, Prof. Jamal asserted that the participants of the UTBK must adhere to the health protocol for preventing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) recommended by the government. This includes wearing masks, maintain distance between participants, wash their hands, and measure their body temperature before entering the UTBK area.
For the participants who originated from the Solo region, who will take UTBK in the UNS campus, they do not need to bring a Health Certificate.
Prof. Jamal ensures that the scheduled Joint Entrance Test for State Universities (SBMPTN) 2020 will not be delayed. He also mentioned that for the scheduled LTMPT Stage I and Stage II on 5-14 July 2020 and 20-29 July 2020, it will be conducted differently, adjusting the conditions of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
Another question asked by citizens is regarding the UTBK material in 2020. Prof. Jamal explains that for the UTBK implementation during the New Normal, it will only consist of the Scholastic Potential Test with a duration of 105 minutes, which obviously will be different from the previous UTBK.
