UNS – The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho appoints the new Chief for the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LPPMP). The inauguration ceremony was held through Zoom Meeting on Thursday (4/6/2020).
During the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Jamal was apologizing for the inauguration of the LPPMP Chief seem too abrupt. This is because on the same day, the previous Chief of LPPMP, Prof. Nunuk Suryani, is appointed and sworn as the Secretary of the Director-General of Teachers and Education Personnel in the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud RI).
“Therefore, in order to avoid a position vacancy, the inauguration of the new Chief of the LPPMP is conducted today, Thursday (4/6/2020),” explains Prof. Jamal.
Prof. Jamal also expresses his gratitude to Prof. Nunuk Suryani for her services and dedication while serving as Chief of LPPMP UNS. “Good luck on fulfilling the assignment in a new position, may you be blessed with health, fluency, and success in carrying out the mandate,” he adds.
As a replacement, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho appoints Prof. Sarwiji Suwandi as the new Chief of the LPPMP UNS. The task as the Chief of LPPMP is not easy. Especially during this ongoing COVID-19, higher education institution is demanded and tested for their abilities and intelligence to do various learning innovations through online media. The success of online lectures is highly dependent on the capability of the LPPMP to design the system and managing all resources appropriately.
“Currently, UNS really needs appropriate learning methods, such as Project-Based Learning. Therefore, we request Prof. Sarwiji as the new LPPMP Chief to immediately follow up on the results of online learning evaluations that have been implemented in UNS since last March 2020. Likewise, the intensive cooperation with the Technical Implementational Unit of ICT is a priority program that must be realized immediately to build a reliable SPADA and OCW information system,” said Prof. Jamal.
Another task that is not less important is to encourage more Postgraduate programs (Master and Doctoral) to be accredited with excellent (A) rank. “Because we trust Prof. Sarwiji as one of the accreditation assessors in UNS who have the ability and credibility that can be proud of and relied upon to complete the task,” he said.
Aside from inaugurating the Chief of LPPMP, in the occasion, the Rector of UNS also inaugurates Prof. Andayani as the Acting Director of Doctoral in Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program replacing Prof. Sarwiji, and Prof. Suyitno as the Acting Director of Master in Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program replacing Prof. Andayani. “I advised that both can continue and even improve the performance of the Study Program. Students’ learning activities during the ongoing COVID-19 should continue and run smoothly, thus they can get graduated on time,” he concluded. Humas UNS/Dwi
