UNS — Happy news came from the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta after two of its programs are accredited with A from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) on Tuesday (5/1/2021). These two programs are the Sports Coaching Education Program (Penkepor) and Physical Education, Health and Recreation Program (Penjaskesrek).
This accreditation was stated in the Decision Letter (SK) BAN-PT Number: 137/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/I/2021 for Penkepor and SK BAN-PT Number: 106/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/I/2021 for Penjaskesrek. The Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Students Affairs FKOR UNS, Dr. Rony Syaifullah, M.Pd, stated that this accreditation demands attention to the data in the Higher Education Database (PDDIKTI) regarding the ratio of teachers and students for a smooth accreditation process.
“For the accreditation of two Undergraduate Programs in FKOR, namely the Penjaskesrek and Penkepor, the previous accreditation expired on December 2020. According to the Minister of Education and Culture Decree of 2020, programs with their expiring A – level accreditation will be granted automatic renewal. However, they need to pay attention to the data in PDDIKTI concerning the teacher and student ratio,” Dr. Rony explained when contacted by uns.ac.id team on Monday (11/1/2021).
The data verified by the accreditation board is the data uploaded to the platform. As the institution that performs accreditation for higher education, BAN-PT will assess through a plenary session in Jakarta. The result of this plenary session decided that two undergraduate programs in FKOR keep their A-level accreditation.
“The application for accreditation renewal process started with a letter from the Institute for Institute of Educational Quality Assurance and Development (LPPMP) and through the Korbid (field coordinator) for the External Quality Assurance System (SPME) LPPMP UNS, Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi who supervise the renewal process to BAN-PT,” Dr. Rony stated.
The accreditation process only went through the Plenary session without field assessment. The accreditation board assesses the data submitted to the PDDIKTI. Dr. Rony represents FKOR conveyed their gratitude to all parties who gave support and participate in achieving this accreditation, including the Rector, the Chief of LPPMP, and Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi as Korbid SPME LPPMP UNS,” Dr. Rony concluded.
