UNS – Technical Working Unit (UPT) of International Office (IO) of University of Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta re-held the Global Challenge Fest in 2019 on Saturday (12/7/2019) located in Graha Solo Raya. It is a closing event of UNS 2019 Global Challenge series. This Global Challenge Fest was followed by more than 150 students of UNS and other universities.
The Global Challenge Fest 2019 appeared with the theme “Challenging Yourself to Study Abroad”. The IO presented an outstanding speaker which was Agus D. Priyanto who is the reviewer of the UNS Global Challenge. He motivated and shared the strategy to successfully join the Global Challenge. Another speaker which is Maria Isabel Nieves as the awardee of Fullbright scholarship also motivated the audiences. She shared her experiences regarding living and studying in the most diverse country in the world.
The discussion was getting interesting since the moderator, Yudi Sastroredjo, invited awardee of UNS Global Challenge 2019 to share their experiences joining UNS Global Challenge. Through the discussion, there were so many experiences and struggles that were experienced by the awardees during the program. It is one of the missions of UNS Global Challenge 2019 which is spreading positive vibes through sharing inspirations regarding reaching out to the dream to study abroad. Moreover, this program aimed to improve practical skills in order to apply study abroad programs. It included the preparation of required documents to enroll in the programs.
One of the participants was Ulya Zaen. She said that she was helped by the program of Global Challenge Fest in 2019.
“My opinion is this program can facilitate me and other participants to know more about Global Challenge and hopefully we got motivated to continue our dreams like the previous speakers,” she shared her opinion.
Besides, one of the awardees of Global Challenge, Aufa from the Faculty of Law of UNS spoke up regarding her impression of joining in Global Challenge.
“Becoming the awardee of UNS Global Challenge is very grateful. We can internationalize by meeting many people from all over the world”, she mentioned.
She also revealed that the Global Challenge Fest 2019 was a good chance to understand more about UNS Global Challenge.
“This Global Challenge Fest in 2019 is very cool, here you can get information and insight about how to get the UNS Global Challenge,” she added.
