In his remarks, UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, conveyed a number of key issues which were the subject of introspection during the commemoration of the Pancasila Birth Day this year.
“As we all know, the geographical conditions that position Indonesia as an archipelagic country should further strengthen the concept and belief in the Indonesian homeland,” Prof. Jamal said, opened his speech.
Prof. Jamal added that as an island nation, the unity of a group of islands that positioned Indonesia between two continents and two oceans could confirm Indonesia’s position as a country that has a living space for the homeland as a whole.
Furthermore, Prof. Jamal reminded that the uniqueness of Indonesia in the Pancasila ideology was not only influenced by anthropological and geographical factors, but the ideology of the Pancasila could be born because of the grace of God the Almighty.
“The ideology of the state and the nation’s view of life explored by the founders of the nation is an incomparable gift from God,” he added.
At the end of his remarks, Prof. Jamal hoped that in the momentum of the commemoration of the Pancasila Birth Day this year, Pancasila could be used as a source of political inspiration in the life of the nation and state.
