Welcoming New Students, UNS Rector: Prepare Yourself for Golden Indonesia 2045!

UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta welcomed new students in an inauguration ceremony in front of the Main Office dr. Prakosa, Monday (14/8/2017). UNS Rector Ravik Karsidi officiated the ceremony, in which 8.967 new students in the academic year of 2017/2018 were inaugurated. The ceremony was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Puan Maharani, who would gave a general lecture in New Orientation (PKKMB) 2017 organized by BEM UNS.

Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Sutarno reported that this year UNS welcomed new students through various admission programs — SNMPTN, SBMPTN, Independent Selection, Interests and Abilities based Admission, and Independent Written Admission Test. There were also other programs such as ADIK Papua, Afirmasi 3T, and international students.

“In this academic year of 2017/2018, UNS accepted 1.867 students in Associate Degree program, 5.923 in Undergraduate program, 1.147 in Postgraduate program, 21 of whom are international students selected by International Office UNS,” he explained.

Furthermore, Ravik Karsidi expressed a warm welcome to all of them. He also conveyed his hope that the students of the millenial generation will make a contribution to the nation and the country.

“You must be capabale of thinking critically and putting it into construstive actions for the nation and the country to prepare for raising the era of globalisation. Prepare your competence corresponding to global challenges for Indonesia’s Golden Age in 2045,” tutupnya. humas-red.uns/Dty/Eln
