UNS — The Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, and his team member is determined as the champion of Rector’s Fellow Tennis (TSR) Executive Tennis Cup 2021. The occasion was held at the Tennis Court of the Faculty of Sport (FKOR), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Manahan on Saturday (27/3/2021), determines that the Rector of UNY is the winner after the UNS Rector team, which consist of Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho and team, declaring retired at 5-1 score.
“Alhamdulillah wa syukrulillah, it was a great match. The UNS Rector and team are extraordinary, unfortunately, the member is unwell. We are exhausted during the group round. Congratulations and success for UNS under our senior leadership in the Board of Rectors,” said the Rector of UNY.
This tennis match bring together the Rectors from five universities, they are Prof. Dr. Nurhasan (Rector of Universitas Negeri Surabaya), Prof. Dr. Khomarudin (Rector of Universitas Negeri Jakarta), Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman (Rector of Universitas Negeri Semarang), Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto (Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta), and Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho (Rector of UNS). The participants are divided into two groups to determine the finalist.
The victory of the Rector of UNY is followed by the host, in the second place. Meanwhile, in the third-place is the Rector of Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) alongside his team member, as well as the Rector of Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) with a partner.
Other than the executive class, the TSR also plays for the achievement category. In this category, the Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) team is determined as the champion. The UNS team won second place, while UNJ and UNY won third place.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal admits that he is contented with this match. “I am excited that the Rectors can spare their time to join this championship amid their tight schedule in their respective university,” Prof. Jamal states.
Similar games are planned for more often after the pandemic ends. This will allow for more types of sports to be included in the championship, such as badminton, off-road, or cycling.

Inspired by the championship held by UNS, the Rector of UNS admits that they are interested to organize a similar championship.
“This event is initiated by UNS, UNY will follow suit because it is a great event, it’s good for networking,” he concluded. Humas UNS
