UNS — The leaders of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta warmly welcomed the representatives of Student Alliance during a visit to the dr. Prakosa UNS to convey their support in a thorough investigation for the death of Gilang Endi Saputra during an Education and Training (Diklatsar) of Korps Mahasiswa Siaga (Corps of Student Reserve) Battalion 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS or often known as the UNS Student Regiment (Menwa – Resimen Mahasiswa). On this occasion, the UNS Student Alliance was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Academics and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, the Vice-Rector of General and Human Resources Affairs, Prof. Bandi, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, the Vice-Rector for Partnership, Planning, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, and the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS Evaluation Team Leader, Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus.
The UNS Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, in front of the students, reiterated that UNS does not tolerate violence in the campus environment. “Once again, I reiterate that UNS does not tolerate any form of campus violence, whether perpetrated by education support staff, lecturers, students, and Student Organizations,” explained Prof. Yunus.
For this reason, UNS entirely hand over the inquiries and investigations process to the Police. “We leave everything to the Police. Until now, UNS has also not received the results of the late Gilang Endi Saputra’s autopsy,” added Prof. Yunus.
In this case, UNS has also formed an Evaluation Team for the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS. “The Evaluation Team for the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS is reviewing various sources to obtain data related to this incident,” said Prof. Yunus.
Meanwhile, the Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS Evaluation Team Leader, Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, said that currently, the team is working to obtain data to uphold justice. “We work based on data, not on guesswork and assumptions. UNS continues to support the Police investigation process for this incident by coordinating and fully cooperating in terms of providing information and facilitating the smooth inspection process conducted by the Police to students and lecturers or education staff related to this incident. UNS fully trusts the professionalism of the Police in the ongoing investigation process and really hopes for the disclosure of the real facts; thus, the truth and justice will be truly upheld,” said Dr. Sunny.
