UNS — Voca Erudita Student Choir (PSM) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta had once again achieved success at the 9th Satya Dharma Gita Choir Festival 2023. The competition took place from 4 to 9 September 2023 in Semarang, Central Java.
The Chairperson of PSM Voca Erudita UNS, Lidwina Prisca said that the 9th Satya Dharma Gita Choir Festival is a regular competition organized by the Choir of the Faculty of Law (FH) Diponegoro University (Undip). This competition includes choir and solo vocal competitions judged by international experts, including Josu Elberdin from Spain, Hyonah Song from South Korea, and Mark Anthony from the Philippines.
“The judges for this competition are experts in the field of choirs and have received global accolades. Voca Erudita was fortunate to participate in this event, along with 56 other choirs from across Indonesia that passed through several selection rounds,” Lidwina Prisca explained to uns.ac.id, Monday (11/9/2023) .
Voca Erudita was accompanied by Dr. Guntur Riyanto, M.Si., Dr.Eng. Ir. Pringgo Widyo Laksono, IPM., several officials, and led by two conductors, Ardian Dika Adhyatma and Agata Martha Wardani. With a team of 60 singers, including 40 in each category, Voca Erudita won five awards in the 9th Satya Dharma Gita Choir Festival competition.
Voca Erudita participated in three out of seven categories in this competition: Mixed Choir Category, Music of Religion Category, and Folksong Category. In these three categories, Voca Erudita won the titles of Champion of the Mixed Choir Category, Champion of the Music of Religion Category, and Champion of the Folksong Category.
Not only did Voca Erudita emerge victorious in each category they participated in, but they also received additional awards, including the Best Conductor award for Agata Martha Wardani and the Grand Champion title of the 9th Satya Dharma Gita Choir Festival.
