Yet, without comprehensive facility of transportation, it will be tougher to make it. Therefore, Indonesia as a huge country indeed needs an appropriate and adequate transportation mode in the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Railway is one of likely mode that can help the national development. Thus, the government concerns more on developing this sector massively. Prasetyo Budi Cahyono, an expert staff of Technology, Environment and Energy sector of Ministry of Transportation explained that government has set a target to build 10.000 km railroad in 2030.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHopefully in 2030, at least 10.000 km railroad would be done. However, we know it will not be easy,\u201d Prasetyo Budi Cahyono said at the National Seminar of Civil Week \u201c<em>Sinergi Transportasi Berbasis Rel Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045<\/em>\u201d at UNS Auditorium, Thursday (8\/11\/2018).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To reach the target, the government needs to allocate the budget for the realization. Prasetyo said that building loop line needs about Rp 500 million per km. Meanwhile, our government has operated the creative financing system to overcome this problem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nevertheless, this process also needs a competent human resources in railway transportation sector. This statement is also supported by another invited speaker, Ir. Budi Noviantoro, Primary Director of PT. INKA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHuman resource is also very important. Creating a line (design) is not that easy. It needs collaboration of disciplines. It might be better to establish a railway department,\u201d Budi explained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moreover, Budi Yulianto, Lecturer of Civil Engineering UNS added that infrastructure development needs an appropriate construction mode to avoid further problem. For him, the infrastructure in the city has not yet solved the transportation problems, such like traffic jam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe concept of city\u2019s problem solving today is still focusing on capacity and supply concept. When the number of vehicle reach a thousand or twice, we instead increase the length or height of the road. We can find many loop lines, city\u2019s roads but that way will not yetsolve the problem,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Therefore, Budi Yulianto said it is important for government to deliver the railed public transportation. He believes that it will decrease the mass increase of vehicle in the city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cLRT (Light Rail Transit) is one of primary modes to solve this transportation problem. Based on the theory, there are three levels of transportation. First is the regular bus transit with small capacity and limited accessibility. Then, the second level is Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) with higher capability and exclusive track. Finally, the last is LRT (Light Rail Transit) which is the highest capacity and more sophisticated capability than BRT (Bus Rapid Transit),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, the major problem is to encourage people to use public transportation. Budi said that there are some steps to realize it, for instance, by reconstructing the train station to be more accessible and then making the regulation regarding private vehicle ownership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;It should be accommodated with <em>non motorance<\/em> facilities like pedestrian or cyclist track to reach train station from house. Afterward, the rule of private vehicle ownership within traffic demand management should be controlled well to avoid another problem,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the end of his speech, Budi reminded the civil engineering academics not only to master design but also to stimulate the transportation planning development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u201cI hope millennial students can innovate more about good transportation mode, so that we can realize the plan that we have today,\u201d Budi closed his statement. <em><strong>humas-red.uns\/Ysp\/Dty<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNS \u2013 Infrastructure development is one of the important aspects to reach Indonesian goal which is \u201cIndonesia Emas\u201d in 2045.
