{"id":15609,"date":"2020-02-14T07:04:33","date_gmt":"2020-02-14T00:04:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uns.ac.id\/en\/?p=15609"},"modified":"2020-02-14T07:10:14","modified_gmt":"2020-02-14T00:10:14","slug":"maximizing-the-natural-potential-kkn-uns-holds-eco-print-natural-dye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uns.ac.id\/en\/maximizing-the-natural-potential-kkn-uns-holds-eco-print-natural-dye\/","title":{"rendered":"Maximizing the Natural Potential, KKN UNS Holds Eco-print Natural Dye"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>UNS, Yogyakarta<\/strong> \u2013 In the effort to utilize the abundant natural resources, the Community Service Program (KKN) Team from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in Krambilsawit village, Saptosari subdistrict, Gunung Kidul district, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) held a Workshop on Eco-print Natural Dye on Saturday (1\/2\/2020).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">One of the team members, Fernanda Rizky Puspa Wardani stated, Eco-print is a technique to create batik using leaves. The leaves used in the workshop are teak leaf because the area is rich with this flora. The workshop was attended by the representatives of PKK Krambilsawit village. The eco-print technique was taught to optimize the utilization of natural resources to generate selling value through creativity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cThe technique is simple, first of all, prepare a plain white or light-coloured cloth that has been soaked with alum that has been dried before,\u201d said Fernanda when contacted by uns.ac.id, Rabu (12\/2\/2020).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Then, put and arrange several leaves in the half part of the cloth. The composition of these arrangements depends on the creativity of each individual. Cover this part with the remaining part of the cloth, then roll the cloth. The next step is tying the rolled cloth with rope strongly on all parts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">After tied strongly, steamed the cloth until the color of the leaves transferred into the cloth. Then, lift and dry. Set the cloth aside and do not wash up to a week, and the process is done.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This workshop is expected to provide benefits to the community to develop the economics opportunity by utilizing the existing natural resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cWe hope that this workshop will provide an insight into the community to develop the economic opportunity by utilizing the existing resources.
