When we empower a woman, we empower a nation. The role of a woman becomes meaningful when it is implemented to its fullest. The spirit to support to fellow women is felt in Building 3 Hall, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FEB UNS) Surakarta, on Thursday (27\/2\/2020), during the Seminar on Empower Women Empower Nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Supported by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Women Movement and Gerakan Cinta Merah Putih from the Master in Management Study Program FEB UNS, and Center for Pancasila Study UNS organize a seminar with the speakers Kristianti Puji Rahayu, S.E., MBA., Dra. Ningsih Hariyanto, and Moderator Retno Tanding Suryandari, S.E., M.E., Ph.D. Each speaker is the alumni of UNS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dra. Ningsih Hariyanto as the representative from the Women Movement recounts her experience as a women activist that provides support to women in the community. The percentage of women in Indonesia for the year of 2010 is 49.7 percent. This condition becomes an opportunity that can be optimized. If women empowerment receives support, thus there will be a better generation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cWomen should be content with themselves, if not they will cause trouble for others,\u201d said Dra. Ningsih Hariyanto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The stigma that remains in several regions is strong such as the women\u2019s duty is only cooking, give birth, and dressing up. Women are only a sidekick, which means the role of a woman is limited to supporting her man. This condition will inhibit the movement of a woman. Dra. Ningsih Hariyanto is committed to change the mindset and it begins by freeing the women&#8217;s mind. This can be done by providing support and convince them that they are valuable. At the end of the session, Dra. Ningsih Hariyanto invites the participants to answer questions about understanding themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The next speaker, Kristianti Puji Rahayu, S.E., MBA shares her experience and perspective on women. Quite a lot of women have their own life already and more focused to keep moving. However, it is important to understand that it is also the role of a woman as a human being to be able to take a better position for themselves, for instance when they act as a wife, mother, and boss at the office. Certainly, these three roles have a different task, thus it needs to be understood properly for it to be implemented properly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIt is important for us to have AQ or adversity quotient, a concept of individual resilience in facing various difficulties in various aspects of their lives. If you cannot turn sadness into an opportunity, finish, end,\u201d said Kristianti Puji Rahayu, S.E., MBA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Women need to have competency that can be applied in their real life. Moreover, mutual support among women is needed. Empowering oneself and others to be able to make a good contribution to life. For instance a simple matter about financial management. As a woman learning about economy Kristianti Puji Rahayu, S.E., MBA wants to contribute to the women in the community. One of them if by sharing knowledge on how to manage family finance. Because in her opinion, family finance is important, thus if a woman can manage her family finance many problems can be avoided.
