UNS <\/strong>– The student of Fine Art Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won another national-level competition. Niko Andre Prasetyo, the 8th<\/sup>-semester student of Fine Art Education Program FKIP UNS won a logo competition held by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Kementerian Dalam Negeri<\/em> – Kemendagri) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) on 9 April 2020. On his achievement, the logo he submitted will be used as the new logo of Kemendagri RI.<\/p>\n

Interviewed by uns.ac.id on Friday (29\/5\/2020), he admitted that he was very happy and did not expect that his work will win the first place in the logo contest held by Kemendagri RI.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was happy knowing my logo went through the best 12, at least if I do not get the first place, Alhamdulillah<\/em> I get to the best 12 from all of the submitted designs. After waiting for some time, finally, I got information from the committee through WhatsApp to check the announcement at the Kemendagri Instagram page. When I saw that my name and logo were named first place, it was unexpected, (I had a) mixed feeling, and happy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The logo competition is an effort to rebranding Kemendagri RI which upholds the spirit through hashtag #Kemendagribaru. The submission and registration process started on 19 February-6 March 2020 and announced on 17 March. However, due to the pandemic, the announcement was postponed to 7 April 2020 through Kemendagri official account. By winning the first position, Niko won Rp 25 million prizes from Kemendagri RI.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Niko defeats the other 1,394 works submitted to the competition. He stated that the logo he designed was inspired by the logo of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which is round-shaped. He also added the flag and Garuda on the logo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe meaning of the logo I designed is following the terms and conditions for the logo from Kemendagri RI explained in the logo competition website. Only that I have an initiative on the flag and garuda. Mostly because those are the core that shows the identity of Indonesia. Moreover, the logo I designed is a logo for Kemendagri RI,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
