BEM FP UNS invited Rysca Indreswati, M.Si., Faculty Member of Agribusiness Diploma (D-3) Program and Khabib Anwari, a village activist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">During the Covid-19 pandemic, many social-economic impacts that have to be solved. Rysca Indreswati stated that the actions taken can be divided into two parts, short-term and long-term. \u201cThe short-term actions are government or community assistance such as basic foods. In the long term, community empowerment,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The student has a lot of energy it is unfortunate if they only use it for studying in the classroom, without joining activities that support their soft-skill. For example, by implementing Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, through community service activities. Rysca conveyed that to solve the costs of constraint students that proposed grant through Village Grant Program (PHBD).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIn selecting the appropriate village for the community service program, we can first explore the potential and characteristics of the village community because we will partner with the village. If you submit for competitive funding, I suggest choosing underdeveloped, remote, and outermost villages to secure funding. We also need to understand the need and potential of the village to get the best solution,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the material delivered by Khabib, community service can be applied anywhere, but do not forget your hometown. Many productive villagers left their village and go back after they are not productive. \u201cVillages are pampered through social aids that do not empower but shape-dependent mentality. Besides that, local wisdom started to be dispatched, the community goes through an identity crisis. A small number of community members is aware of their role in the community. The community should not forget their village,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Khabib added that there are stages of community empowerment that can be taken. \u201cThe stages that can be done are, among others, problem and obstacle, analysis of potential, strength and threat data, formulation of the work program, funding, regeneration, and monitoring. The community needs to be ready in facing the challenges in applying community empowerment, both internal and external challenges,\u201d he closed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The participant\u2019s enthusiasm is observed in the question and answer session from the number of questions. A participant asked on the toughest challenge in performing community service. \u201cThe toughest challenge is in the community because it is outside of our control.
