The online discussion with a sub-theme on Basic Guidelines for Advocacy and Community Assistance, invites Lutfy Mubarok, S.H., as the main speaker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Guided by Miftah Nur Khayanto, a student of FH UNS, this discussion is attended by 40 students. Lutfy Mubarok from the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation \u2013 Yogyakarta Legal Aid Institute (YLBHI-LBH), delivers material on the Basic Guidelines for Advocacy and Community Assistance. Lutfy explains that LBH is a civil organization with an independent vision and mission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cLBH is a civil society organization with vision and mission in determining political transition, economic, social, culture, and gender-based political transformation based on popular movements, as well as guaranteeing and protecting people in fulfilling economic, social, and cultural rights and basic human freedoms,\u201d explains Lutfy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Advocacy can be considered as a strategy to influence decision making in regulations setting, managing resources, and the decisions concerning the public. Meanwhile, the target of advocacy is the community, an individual, an ideology, and values. As for the preparation for advocacy, the activities are consist of identifying problems, gathering data on issues carefully, and exploring solutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the performance of advocacy there are investigations that need to be done. The investigation is an attempt to prove, to find and collect data, information, and other findings, to find out the truth or even an error within a fact. Investigations are also conducted to find latent problems and manifest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In basic advocacy organizations, they are usually divided into three according to their functions. The divisions are groundworks, which is the basis of an advocacy movement that builds a mass base, political education of cadres, forms a core circle, and mobilizes action. The second division is a supporting unit that provides financial support, logistics, data information, and access. The last is the front line division who carries out the functions of a spokesperson, negotiator, lobbying, is involved in the legislative process, jurisdiction, and also mobilizes allies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At the end of the discussion, Lutfy advised that in helping others, there is no need to differentiates the skin color or religion.
