{"id":17056,"date":"2020-07-15T08:57:41","date_gmt":"2020-07-15T01:57:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uns.ac.id\/en\/?p=17056"},"modified":"2020-07-15T08:57:41","modified_gmt":"2020-07-15T01:57:41","slug":"crisu-chairman-concerned-with-the-low-number-of-private-universities-accredited-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uns.ac.id\/en\/crisu-chairman-concerned-with-the-low-number-of-private-universities-accredited-a\/","title":{"rendered":"CRISU Chairman Concerned with the Low Number of Private Universities Accredited A"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>UNS<\/strong> \u2013 The Chair of The Council of Rector of Indonesian State University (CRISU) who is also the Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, is concerned with the low number of Private University (<em>Perguruan Tinggi Swasta<\/em> &#8211; PTS) in Indonesia that has not reached the A accreditation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the \u201c<em>Kampus Merdeka<\/em>\u201d (Independent Campus) discussion with Prof. Ade Saptomo, Friday (10\/7\/2020) through UNS YouTube channel, Prof. Jamal stated that from tens of thousands of PTS registered, only 30s PTS are accredited A.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As the Chief of CRISU, Prof. Jamal shared his experience in Public University (PTN) governance. PTN can be classified into three categories, namely PTN <em>Satuan Kerja<\/em>&#8211; Satker (work unit), PTN <em>Badan Layanan Umum<\/em> \u2013 BLU (Public Service Agency), and PTN <em>Berbadan Hukum<\/em> \u2013 BH (incorporated). Prof. Jamal explained that in each type of PTN, the university has different autonomy and flexibility. For example, PTN-BLU has flexibility in terms of assets and Human Resource management, while PTN-BH which has a higher position, has wider autonomy and flexibility.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cThe government considers the discretions provided for PTN-BH is an autonomy, in terms of science, opening a program without a permit from the government, or to hire teachers, all are allowed to be done by the university (in this criteria). The goal is to encourage universities to enter the best 500 global universities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Concerning the \u201cKampus Merdeka\u201d policy, Prof. Jamal stated that CRISU provides great help in realizing the policy. CRISU has facilitated coordination between PTN rectors, for example, a partnership between UNS and Universitas Andalas signed on 11 June 2020 which covers the collaboration in managing the education, research, and community service, as well as the development and improvement of Human Resources.
