This year&#8217;s selection takes on the theme of Glorious Youth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The selection for Duta Genre Surakarta this year was held in several places as a venue for the prospective of Duta Genre to proceed. During the technical meeting, the event was held in Balai Twang Praja 5 Balaikota Surakarta (City Hall). Meanwhile, during the quarantine, they are located in Rumah Wakil Wali Kota Surakarta (the House of Deputy Mayor of Surakarta) dan Balai Tawang Praja 5<sup>th<\/sup> floor. During public test, the event was held at Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA-High School) Batik 1 Surakarta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In this prestigious event, there were five UNS students who won the championship. The students are Jihan Ashila 1<sup>st<\/sup> place for Female Duta Genre (Dugen), Alifi Kurnia 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place for Female Dugen, Ahmad Nur Kholis who won the Men Category for Talented Dugen, Salva Sabrina who won the Female Category for Talented Dugen, and Dhiya Restu Putra who won the Male Category for Best Advocacy Dugen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The \u2018Duta Genre\u2019 Selection was postponed due to the Covid-19 Extraordinary Event (KLB) in Surakarta. \u201cThe selection starts in March. At that time we were quarantined for three days, but due to the Covid-19 KLB, thus the grand final is postponed until June. Precisely on July 16, 2020,\u201d Dhyiya, the Champion of Best Advocacy Dugen from the Local Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), explained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">When contacted by uns.ac.id on Friday (31\/7\/2020), Jihan Ashila, the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Champion of Female Duta Genre, revealed that she was surprised and do not expect this achievement. \u201cShocked and did not expect, because I absolutely have no target and most importantly, I just enjoy every process and always do your best. After finding out that I got the 1<sup>st<\/sup> champion, of course I am grateful and thanks to God because without His intervention, I could not have been at this point,\u201d Jihan reveals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Jihan also states that she wishes to be a useful person for society, thus the society will be more aware of Genre. Similarly, Dhiya Restu Putra, also reveals his wishes, \u201cHopefully, in the future, together with Genre Ambassador and Genre Forum Surakarta, as well as Population and Family Planning Control Office, we can improve teenagers understanding on Genre program.
