This tool is designed to help people with hearing impairment and to support the government program &#8220;Indonesia Ramah Diffable&#8221;. The students are Andayani Yuwana Sari from the Vocational School (SV) UNS, Henry Probo Santoso from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNS, Rizqi Misbkahus Suroya from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS, and Ahmad Baktiar Kris Aziz from Vocational School (SV) UNS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The team is supervised by Feri Adriyanto, Ph.D., from the Electrical Engineering program FT UNS, this innovation has successfully earned grants from the Student Creativity Program (PKM) from the Minister of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) RI). &#8220;This innovation is motivated by the current condition of their peers with hearing impairment, who face difficulty in communicating and ineffective hearing aids they use,&#8221; explains one of the team members Andayani Yuwana Sari, on Wednesday (9\/9\/2020).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Further, she elaborates that there are many hearing aids. However, there are many complaints regarding the hearing aids such as it creates distortion, hurting ears, buzzing ears, and many noises when there are many voices. Related to this problem, Andayani explains that a research team from Swinburne University, Melbourne develops an application called GetTalking designed for babies who are born deaf and receiving cochlear implants. Later on, a baby born deaf will receive an application implant to alleviate the difficulties in connecting the sound heard with the sound that uttered. However, this application needs a longer time to develop, due to the limited words and sentences available in the application, which need to be adjusted to the development of the baby&#8217;s speech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Andayani applies this technique to a headband tool consisted of a set of vibrating modules and will be connected to the Google Assistant on the Android smartphone. Therefore, every sound received by Google Assistant will be sent to the device and converted into a vibration pattern. Through the vibration patterns, &#8216;Teman Tuli&#8217; can differentiate voice, thus they can learn to hear and speak based on the basic vibration pattern. This tool will help them to communicate.
