This was delivered during the opening of online and offline Introduction to University Live for the New Students (PKKMB) UNS, through live Youtube Streaming in UNS account and Zoom Cloud Meeting, Monday (14\/9\/2020) morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">To be the agent of change and the driving force, according to Nadiem Makarim, can change the paradigm that views studying at a higher education institution are for working preparation, into studying is for learning and learning is to create, therefore students can work in any field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cEducation is the solution key for the teaching crisis out of many crises faced by the nation. We learn together and should keep learning to be a useful human being,&#8221; Nadiem states. Even though the current learning is conducted through an online system, Nadiem Makarim asked all parties in the university environment to take lessons from the condition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">He further elaborates that the technology-based education method in online learning becomes something that needs to be adapted and developed in line with the dynamics in curriculum adaptation in a higher education institution. He believes that the current condition can stimulate creativity and innovation of all parties while strengthening the implementation of the new norms. Regarding the Merdeka Belajar and Kampus Merdeka program, Nadiem Makarim states that the program will liberating education units to improve its learning culture for innovation, which also triggers a growth mindset for the nation&#8217;s next generation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cHigher education is encouraged to be more adaptive in implementing curriculum transformation in line with the national and global requirements, as well as adapted to the characteristics of the generation of Indonesian students,&#8221; Nadiem explains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the past, students do not have the flexibility in studying, because all learning process is interpreted classically as a Semester Credit Unit (SKS), thus all activities conducted by students outside the campus and outside the lecture hall cannot be recognized as learning. Currently, the Kemendikbud RI aims to change this limitation, therefore, SKS can be interpreted as a flexible study time for students to learn, either through class lectures or other activities such as internship and providing lectures in the village.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cThese activities outside the campus is expected to increase students&#8217; competency to provide a real solution for the problems in the community. Kampus Merdeka encourages us to be a long-life learner, the need to keep learning, exploring talents according to interest, and improving competency advantage in the new era of higher education,\u201d he elaborates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Besides, Nadiem Makarim, number of figures also attended the opening of online PKKMB UNS 2020, among others the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) RI, Prof. Mahfud MD, and\u00a0 the Director General of Higher Education, Minister of Education and Culture, the Republic of Indonesia (Dirjen Dikti Kemendikbud RI), Prof. Ir.
