Under the supervision of Sorja Koesuma S.Si., M.Si., the teams have three members, Delta Nur Septianingsih and Abdillah Husein Sanjani, students of Physics Program 2017, and Fitrandi Rahayu from Informatics and Computer Engineering Education (PTIK) 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">To uns.ac.id, Delta, as the team leader, explained that this innovation comes from the interest to utilize the overly abundant seawater, which has not fully utilized in daily life. Considering the increasing demands for clean water, the team decided to create an alternative to meet the demand for clean water and consumable drinking water for the community from seawater conversion. \u201cEspecially for the coastal marine communities. This innovation is expected to fulfill the demand of water and become a solution for drinking water issues,\u201d Delta stated, Saturday (21\/11\/2020).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Abdillah also added that researches on the tool to convert seawater into drinkable water is widely available. However, from the references they read, these tools have a large physical product and thus, less efficient to use, while their work is portable, more efficient to develop, and easier to use. The innovative product Delta\u2019s team created has 20 cm height with a diameter of 15 cm and a capacity of seawater container of 700 ml (0.7 L). This product can produce approximately 140 ml of drinking water from the conversion process. \u201cHow this tool work is pretty simple by applying a simple distillation process as its basic principle,\u201d Abdillah explained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The distillation process work by filtering water through micro filter to eliminate small dirt. Water is then contained and heated through the heater. The steam then goes up into the cooling coil for the cooling process; water is then filtered through a carbon filter and a mineral process to purify it. After the filtration process, water will flow to the prepared container, and it is ready to use. \u201cAn animation video and explanation on how this tool works can be seen in Delta Nur Septianingsih YouTube channel with the title \u201cBotol Konversi Air Laut Siap Minum [PKMKC 2020],\u201d Abdillah added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This PKM-KC won Dana Hibah PKM 2020 funding from Kemdikbud RI and passed to the National Student Science Week (Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional &#8211; Pimnas) 2020.
