This competency is essential, especially with the industrial revolution 4.0 and demographic bonus. The encouragement was delivered by Prof. Jamal while attending the handover of the UNS Professional Certification Institute (UNS LSP) Certificate of License by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) at the G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS, Thursday (26\/11\/2020).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Prof. Jamal states that until the end of 2022, all SV UNS graduates must have at least one competency certification aside from their formal education certificate. Under the mandate of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud) of 2020, 7% of the graduates must have competency certification as an addition to their education certificate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;This is a difficult task for SV UNS; starting right now, they should start preparing. Especially mapping and planning the new certification scheme, as well as organizing education and training activity for assessors, which in line with their interest and competency,&#8221; Prof. Jamal states.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Besides the preparation as mentioned above, Prof. Jamal also explains the importance of a dynamic curriculum design, which at the same time is agile with the changing environment. Agility becomes an important matter because, in the future, university graduates must be capable of driving innovations and creations. Regarding this, Prof. Jamal mentions that UNS has a particular concern in preparing excellent graduates&#8217; competency. One of them is to prepare a certification scheme through LSP to ensure that the competency gained during the learning process, both on-campus or off-campus, met the standard and qualification requested by credible employers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;Besides that, the certification aims to enrich the capacity, establish a professional career, and quality assurance,&#8221; Prof. Jamal reveals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The establishment of an LSP in UNS, according to Prof. Jamal, becomes proof and a form of responsibility of the UNS in preparing competitive and professional graduates. Human resource capacity improvement is one of the crucial components need in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution. The capacity includes knowledge, skill, and attitude as an important asset in facing the world economic growth at present and future time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On the same occasion, the Vice Chairman of the BNSP, Miftakul Aziz, states that the preparation of competency certification scheme in LSP UNS must be supported by validity, related to traceability, and quality assurance. Moreover, he mentions the importance of curriculum review alongside the competency standard for the certification scheme. Curriculum review aims to ensure that students get educational competence according to the predetermined standards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;We hope the UNS LSP existence can support quality assurance alongside the UNS ecosystem.
