Eryneta Nurul Hasanah, a student from the Javanese Language Education Study Program FKIP UNS, won as 2<sup>nd<\/sup> runner-up in a national essay competition. During the competition organized by the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Eryneta proposed an idea for an Android-based puzzle game to introduce the manners in speaking Javanese and instilling character values in children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI wrote an essay for innovation in the form of a puzzle game application, which depicts human body parts and its name both in <em>Ngoko<\/em> (informal speech) and <em>Krama<\/em> (polite and formal speech) speech. The application is also followed by an example of application in sentences and there are Javanese proverbs of advice,\u201d Eryneta explains in an interview on Tuesday (2\/2\/2021).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The student, who currently is in her last semester, admits that she does not expect to earn any champion title, since this was her first individual championship in 2020. \u201cI am nervous because this is my first individual championship during 2020, which also become the last championship that concludes 2020. The announcement was made through the official website on December 27<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020. Because of this, I checked the website many times from noon to afternoon, but finally, it can be accessed at night after Isha\u2019 prayer. Alhamdulillah, I won as the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> runner-up,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Initiating this innovation, Eryneta was inspired by the problem in her surrounding environment. She reveals that the children are lacking in their understanding of the <em>Krama<\/em> expression for body parts, thus choosing to use Indonesian expression instead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe context here is daily speech in a Javanese-spoken environment, thus if children are not accustomed to the Javanese expression of the body parts name, then in a long time they will forget their mother language. Our task as the millennial generation, who is technologically literate, is to be innovative in introducing cultural items to the younger generation through the media they prefer, such as an android game,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Before closing the interview, Eryneta hopes she can continue to achieve more nearing her last study period. \u201cLet\u2019s keep crafting, do not afraid of failure because failure is a part of the process and the best potion of success. For those who have achieved something, keep on crafting.
