UNS<\/strong> \u2014 The Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, officially dispatched students who participated in the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) on 8 August 2021. Gradually, a pre-departure briefing from Atdikbud and pengsosbud KBRI of the target country will be held. Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta sent its 22 students to participate in IISMA and received an opportunity to host a briefing for students who will depart to the Netherland on Wednesday (11\/8\/2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programs, IISMA sends 970 students to participate in a student exchange program to 59 world-class universities in 28 countries this year. The briefing was also provided for students who will depart to 8 other countries: Kanada (30 students), Germany and Hungary (71 students), Ireland (50 students), Latvia (8 students), Lithuania (5 students), Netherlands (49 students), US (120 students).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opening remark, Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan, shared his proudness and appreciated students who won the IISMA program. \u201cCongratulation to IISMA awardee who will participate in the student exchange program for one semester in the Netherland,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Atdikbud KBRI Netherland, Din Wahid, Ph.D., emphasized that the 49 IISMA awardees are Indonesia\u2019s ambassadors who need to watch their attitude and behavior to maintain Indonesia\u2019s name in the Netherland. Pensosbud Den Haag, Fery Iswandi, hoped that students have intensive communication with Indonesian students in the Netherlands in the Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) to help their cultural adaptation and ensure the smooth learning process during their 1-semester stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subkoordinator Belmawa Kemendikbud Ristek, Yulito Priyoningsih, reminded all participants to maintain their health before, during, and after they arrived in the Netherland, considering the departure time is getting closer. The 49 IISMA awardees will stay in three cities: Maastrict, Utrecht, and Amsterdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the briefing, Din Wahid reminded participants to be serious in participating in the learning process while making time to explore and enjoy the beauty of the Netherlands. In August UNS will send two students to the University of Szeged, one student to the University of Pecs in Hungary, and one student to Daugavpils University in Latvia.
