UNS<\/strong> — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta never running out of great students. This time amazement is directed to Muhammad Alfied Pandam Pamungkas. Pandam\u2013his shot name-is a student at the Diploma Program of Mandarin Language Vocational School (SV) UNS who won funding under Vocational School Student Entrepreneurship Program (PWMV) from the Directorate of Higher Vocational Education and Professional Directorate General of Vocation Kemdikbudristek for selling his fried chicken noodle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pandam won IDR 10 million funding, and through this report, we will walk with him on his journey to won significant funding from the educational authority in Indonesia. To learn about his journey, uns.ac.id talked to Pandam and probe further on his tips to build a business amid the pandemic and his journey to won the funding. Through our conversation on Wednesday (25\/8\/2021), the student from Sukoharjo District shared his experiences in building his noodle business since September 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under a brand \u201cMiyago Naknan\u201d a shortened version of Mi Ayam Goreng Enak Tenan (truly tasty fried chicken noodle). Pandam started his business after he graduated from Senior High School because he wants to fill his free time while waiting for university student admission announcements. From his intention to make use of his time, Miyago Naknan received positive responses from the community, and now it is available for dine-in and takeaway through online food delivery services such as GoFood, Grab Food, and Shopee Food. This culinary business has also opened a branch in Mayor Sunaryo Street No. 43 Sukoharjo, and maintain its first stall at Telukan Street, Dusun II, Grogol, Sukoharjo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"From<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI dared myself to open a business, and the response was beyond my expectation; community response was great and welcomed Miyago product well. We hope that (we) could provide excellent services and create tasty Miyago,\u201d Pandam said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After he was accepted as a university student, he stated that he joined the Vokatif, an entrepreneurship platform initiated by the Student Executive Board (BEM) SV UNS last year. This platform facilitates students who want to be entrepreneurs. Pandam also mentioned that he knows PWMV from Vokatif and decided to applied and invited his friends to build and develop Miyago Naknan to be a bigger business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI invited Angga from Mandarin \u201920, Thillal from DKV \u201920, and Faiz from Applied Communication \u201920. Alhamdulillah, we won IDR 10 million funding. We will use the funding to develop our stalls and improve team skills,\u201d Pandam explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, he shared the success of Miyago Naknan in winning funding from Kemdikbudristek that started from proposal preparation that describes the types of business, main product, and financial plan for business sustainability. \u201cAround two weeks, we consult and supervised by Mrs Dani Putri Septi, B.Ed., MTCSOL and Mr. Maeda Dicky Chandra, S.M., M.Sc as the second supervisor,\u201d Pandam said. After going through various selection processes, the business was announced to win the funding with the other seven teams from SV UNS. This success is a pride for UNS because SV UNS has more teams winning the funding than SV Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) and SV Universitas Airlangga (Unair) Surabaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pandam, who entered his third semester this year, also shared his business tips amid the low economic condition due to the Covid-19 pandemic. His first tip is to use social media as an effective marketing tool to promote a product and reach consumers. His second tip is to think creatively. \u201cThinking creatively while reminding the community through social media. Another tip is to gather your intention and take immediate action. Don\u2019t spend much time on planning because implementation is often far from what we planned. Conduct improvement during your course of business,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his business, Pandam also said that through his business, he learned to get out of his comfort zone, which he learned from the late Bob Sadino as his inspiration. \u201cAlthough the initial capital for (this business) is from parents, in the end (it) has separate funding and could cover menu development and (opened) branch,\u201d Pandam added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When discussing the challenges that he faced, Pandam said that Miyago Naknan faced tight competition with other competitors in selling fried chicken noodle. But he successfully turned this challenge into an opportunity by informing the community as his consumers that his product is healthy noodles with a friendly price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe also promoted Miyago through several platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and online food delivery platform,\u201d Pandam added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To uns.ac.id, he stated that Miyago Naknan could generate profit up to IDR 10 million a month, and now the business hired three employees. Pandam also said that his tuition fee does not burden his parents because his profit from this business could cover his tuition fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI also hope that in the future, PWMV Kemdikbudristek funding can be used according to the plan, 80% for business development and 20% for team skill improvement,\u201d he concluded. Humas UNS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
