UNS<\/strong> — The discourse on the migration of analog television broadcasts (TV) to digital TV has been widely heard since the beginning of 2021. The discussion was often discussed after the issuance of Government Regulation No 46 of 2021 regarding Post, Telecommunications, and Broadcasting (PP Postelsiar). Responding to this discourse, the Alumni Association of Universitas Sebelas Maret (IKA UNS) Surakarta hosted a particular discussion on this transformation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussing the topic \u201cIndonesia\u2019s Readiness toward Analog Switch Off\u201d in the 75th<\/sup> Wedangan IKA UNS, the discussion was available through Zoom Cloud Meeting, Youtube Live Streaming, and TVRI Jawa Tengah, while attended by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Kuncoro states that the topic, indeed, needs further study by IKA UNS and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNS. \u201cI think this topic is suitable for research problem for academicians in FISIP UNS because community extension is the area of expertise from the FISIP UNS academician. Hopefully, this discussion can be beneficial for all of us,\u201d said Prof. Kuncoro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exchange is welcomed by the Dean of FISIP UNS, Prof. Dr. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni, M.Si., who wishes that the Wednesday (15\/9\/2021) event will open opportunities for students and lecturers in the FISIP UNS to share knowledge and experiences in the broadcasting field. Prof. Ismi also hopes that the discussion will expand collaboration and partnership between FISIP UNS and the television broadcasting sector. \u201cWe from FISIP UNS are ready to establish partnerships with television broadcasting companies. Hopefully, with the support of this government policy, it can improve the content quality of the information provided through digitization,\u201d explains Prof. Ismi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"IKA<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The transformation from analog to digital television systems is currently in process. The process is specifically regulated through the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information (Kominfo) No 6 of 2021. The implementation of Analog Switch Off (ASO) is planned to take place gradually, with the first stage set on August 2021 and will be concluded on 2 November 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For an in-depth discussion, the IKA UNS invites a number of speakers from various stakeholders and practitioners, such as Dr. Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, S.E., M.Si., Ak. CA. (Deputy Chairman for First Commission, DPR RI), Prof. Dr. Widodo Muktiyo, M.Kom. (Expert Staff for Menkominfo RI), Drs. Sifak, M.Si. (Chairman of TVRI Jateng), and Sri Hastjarjo, S.Sos., Ph.D. (Head of Communication Science Study Program FISIP UNS). The occasion lasted for 2.5 hours, with hundreds of participants joining the enticing discussion. Humas UNS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
