Faculty of Engineering Universitas Sebelas Maret (FT UNS) has successfully held the International Conference of Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical Engineering (ICIMECE). ICIMECE was formerly known as IMECE which first held on 4-5 November 2015. In 2016, ICIMECE held coincided with the conference of Engineering Faculty Universitas Diponegoro entitled\u00a0\u201cInternational Joint Conference of 2016 2nd <\/sup>\u00a0International Conference of Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical Engineering (ICIMECE) and Annual Conference on Industrial and System Engineering (ACISE)\u00a0<\/em>2016\u201d.<\/p>\n

Opening ceremony led by Muh. Nizam on behalf of Rector UNS, along with the Dean of FT UNS, Solihin As\u2019ad (left side) and the Dean of FT UNDIP, M. Agung Wibowo, (right side)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The event was held at Royal Amabarrukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta on 6-7 October 2016. Furthermore, ICIMECE and ACISE 2016 was supported by School of Electrical and Informatics, Institute Technology Bandung (ITB), and\u00a0 the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) with the technical co-sponsored from the Indonesia Section C-Chapter and Indonesia Section SP\/ED\/E\/PES Joint Chapter.<\/p>\n

Sholihin As\u2019ad, as the steering committee and the Dean of Engineering Faculty, delivered in his speech that ICIMECE and ACISE 2016 will be presented by 110 papers which were selected from more than 150 papers afiliated by not only Indoneisa, but also Australia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Philipines, UK, Tiongkok, and Turkey.<\/p>\n

Muh. Nizam, the chief of Institute of Development and Educational Quality Warranty (LPPMP) UNS, on behalf of Rector of UNS opened the International Joint\u00a0 Conference of ICIMECE and ACISE 2016. In the opening ceremony, \u00a0the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also held between PT Festo Indonesia and UNS in terms of Education and\u00a0 Automation Research of Production System.<\/p>\n

Hartono Indra, managing Director of Festo Indonesia (Batik) and Muh. Nizam on behalf of Rector UNS (Suit) were signing the MoU.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The main speakers are Amran Md. Rasli, Director of UTM Innovation and Commercialisation Center,\u00a0 Teknologi Malaysia University delivering the material entitled \u201cPromoting Innovation and Commercialization of University Research and University\u2019s Ecosystem: Lessons From UTM\u201d; \u00a0Erdem Cuce, Asst. Professor Bayburt University delivering \u201cNovel building materials toward low\/zero carbon buildings. Safri Susanto as the Didactic Manager of PT Festo Indonesia also delivered the material about \u201cIndustry 4.0 \u2013 Future Production Process\u201d.<\/p>\n

On the second day, Muh. Nizam, the professor of Power System UNS, was pointed out to be the speaker to deliver the material about \u201cRenewable Energy, Opportunities and Challenge (Indonesian Case)\u201d while Sarjiya as the Chair of Power and Energy Society Chapter, IEEE Indonesia,\u00a0 delivering\u00a0 \u201cCommercialization of Renewable Energy: Power System and Technology\u201d. Then the material entitled \u201cCommercialization of Renewable Energy: Policies and Regulations\u201d was also delivered by Warsono M. as the General Manager Transmission of East Java and Bali Region PLN. Along with Muh. Nizam, Sarjiya and Warsono, Slamet Aji Pamungkas as the Head of Sub-Directorate Information and Data Analisys\u00a0of Creative Economy Board (BEKRAF) also presented the material related to the Creativity Board.<\/p>\n

Agus Purwanto, the vice dean of Academic Affair FT UNS, stated that ICIMECE will anually be held in which the department of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering will take turn being in charge of the event. \u201cIn 2017, the department of Chemical Engineering has been pointed out to be in charge of ICIMECE,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

This international conference is expected to be the scientific meeting among the government, communities and academicians.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Wahyudi Sutopo, the chief of committees expects that the conference entitled \u201cCommercialization of Renewable Energy as part of Creating Innovative Culture In Engineering Disclipines\u201d\u00a0 can be the scientific meeting among the government, communities and academicians.<\/p>\n

He added that this annual event have involved the students as the presenters and the committees, \u201cThe students have participated as the presenters in this international conference, one of them is the Chief of Students\u2019 Scientific Study (SIM),\u201d he explained. Besides, the involvement of Industrial Engineering Students\u2019 Association in the committees was the real contribution to the improvement of students\u2019 soft skill through this international conference indexed by SCOPUS.<\/p>\n
