UNS<\/a><\/strong> — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held Eid al-Adha prayer 1444 Hijriah in the courtyard of dr. Prakosa Building UNS, Thursday (29\/6\/2023). Serving as Khatib was Vice Dean 1 of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNS, Prof. Doddy Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. Meanwhile, the Imam for this prayer was Alfan Dwi Rahman, a student from the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) UNS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eid al-Adha prayer was attended by dozens of Muslim people, both from UNS academics and the society that lives around UNS. A happy atmosphere enveloped the faces of the people, especially during this year’s Eid al-Adha prayer, when the entire courtyard of the Rectorate was filled with Muslim people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his khotbah<\/em>, Prof. Doddy Ariawan said that Eid al-Adha cannot be separated from the story of Prophet Ibrahim AS. Sacrificial worship is carried out as an act of worship that illustrates the willingness and devotion of a Moslem to Allah SWT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Qurban<\/em> also reflects the awareness and gratitude of Muslims for the blessings given to Allah in their lives,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that this was reflected in the Al-Quran, Surah Al Kausar, verse 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So pray for God and make sacrifices,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacrificial worship has a strong legal basis in Islam. This is based on the Qur’an, where Allah commanded the Prophet Abraham AS to sacrifice his son, Ismail AS, as a test of obedience and devotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This story reflects the loyalty of Prophet Ibrahim AS to Allah and emphasizes the importance of sacrifice as a recommended form of worship in Islam,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacrificial worship also reminds us of values such as moderation, sharing, and social care. In addition, the sacrifice also teaches about the importance of giving the best that we have for the benefit of humanity and respecting the value of love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The wisdom of making sacrifices is an effort to be grateful for God’s blessings for the abundance of blessings and also to be grateful for humans because they are still given a long life and to erase all the sins of those who sacrifice,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacrificial worship is also a strong form of social solidarity with fellow human beings. When a human being makes a sacrifice, they not only think about their personal interests but also share them with those who are less fortunate. Through these actions, sacrificial worship influences social bonds between people and helps reduce social inequality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacrificial worship also teaches the value of togetherness and sharing. When Muslims perform the ritual sacrifice, they do it together as a community. This creates close social bonds and strengthens a sense of brotherhood among fellow Muslims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The value of empathy is also given to sacrificial animals. Muslims need to understand that sacrificial animals are God’s creatures that also have rights. Islam teaches that sacrificial animals must be treated properly, such as being slaughtered in a humane way. Humas UNS<\/p>\n\n\n\n
