UNS<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 To enhance knowledge about artificial intelligence, the Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD)<\/a> at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a general lecture with the theme “Artificial Intelligence in the Learning of Arts and Design” on Tuesday (7\/11\/2023). The general lecture, held at the HB. Sutopo FSRD UNS Building Hall, featured two special speakers from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). They were Prof. Ade Gafar Abdullah, M.Si., and Dr. Isma Widiaty, M.Pd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Lecture<\/em>, opened and moderated by the Acting Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Affairs at UNS, Dr. Deny Tri Ardianto, S.Sn., Dipl. Art., welcomed the arrival of the two speakers from UPI. “In this good opportunity, we will together explore knowledge from our two special speakers. Hopefully, what they convey can increase our understanding of artificial intelligence in the learning of arts and design,” Dr. Deny stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first presentation was delivered by Prof. Ade Gafar Abdullah, M.Si. He discussed the topic of \u201cResearch Data Analysis Assisted by Artificial Intelligence<\/em>\u201d. “The purpose of data analysis is to reveal new knowledge, validate hypotheses, and provide a strong empirical basis for research findings,” Prof. Ade explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also explained that current research data has become very complex. With such complex data, there is a need for tools to process it. In this regard, the role of AI becomes crucial when dealing with very complex data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second presentation was delivered by Dr. Isma Widiaty, M.Pd. She spoke about the \u201cSynergy of Tradition and Innovation: How Digitalization is Changing the Curriculum Landscape in the Field of Arts?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on her presentation, Dr. Isma explained that the synergy between tradition and innovation has proven to bring a more exciting, enjoyable, polite, and modern nuance to learning. Tradition serves to limit the space for innovation to remain within the corridor based on wisdom values. The main spirit of innovation, in the form of digitalization, influences the curriculum landscape in vocational education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The dimension of curriculum implementation becomes the main space for the movement of digitalization to form various curriculum spaces that are more refreshing, personal, collaborative, and can see a broader and wiser perspective in looking at modernization,” Dr. Isma said.
