UNS<\/a><\/strong> – The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, in collaboration with the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (Ditjen EBTKE<\/em>) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources<\/a> (ESDM), organized a seminar on Energy Conservation Socialization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main speakers at the event were Eko Sudarmawan, S.E., representing the Subcoordinator of Energy Conservation of Bimtek Ditjen EBTKE, the Ministry of ESDM; Prof. Ir. Muhammad Nizam, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Professor of Electrical Engineering at FT UNS; Budiman R. Saragih, S.T., M.T., from the Human Resources Development Center (PPSDM) of KEBTKE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eko Sudarmawan, representing the Director of Energy Conservation, Directorate General EBTKE of ESDM, expressed his gratitude to FT UNS, the speakers, and the students who attended the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We, from the Directorate of Energy Conservation, express our gratitude to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNS for facilitating this event, our fellow speakers, and the participants who voluntarily participated in this activity,” Eko said during the event held at the Main Meeting Room of the Ir. RPM. Kasifudin FT UNS, on Wednesday (20\/12\/2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its national energy policy, the government has set a target for a 17% reduction in energy consumption by 2025. “Energy conservation is one of the main pillars in the decarbonization of the energy sector, both from the demand and supply sides. Energy conservation is a systematic, planned, and integrated effort to preserve domestic energy resources and improve their efficiency,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FT UNS Dean, Dr.techn. Ir. Sholihin As’ad, M.T., welcomed all participants to this energy conservation socialization event. He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of ESDM for choosing FT UNS as the venue for the energy conservation socialization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“On behalf of UNS and the Faculty of Engineering, I express my thanks for entrusting us as one of the venues for energy conservation socialization,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After delivering the welcome speeches, Eko Sudarman, who was also one of the speakers, presented material on “Introduction to Energy Conservation and Presidential Regulation Number 33 of 2023 Concerning Energy Conservation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his presentation, he explained that the main issues behind the issuance of Presidential Regulation 33 of 2023 are the target of a 1% annual reduction in energy intensity, the expansion of regulatory coverage, the underdeveloped energy conservation business services, the ineffective implementation of incentives and disincentives, weak supervision and implementation, and the suboptimal involvement of local governments in implementing energy conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Prof. Muhammad Nizam, as the second speaker, presented material on “Sustainable Energy with Energy Management Systems in Buildings.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his presentation, Prof. Nizam mentioned three sectors that have the most significant impact on energy consumption: the residential sector, the commercial sector, and the industrial sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further explained that sustainable energy management can be achieved through research and development, the establishment of partnerships and collaborations, marketing strategies, customer education, adaptation, and flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last speaker, Budiman R Saragih, presented material on “Technical Introduction to the Conversion of Gasoline Motorcycles into Electric Motorcycles.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained the stages of physical testing of converted motorcycle types, including testing the main brake efficiency, testing the power and direction of the main light beam, testing the sound level of the horn, weighing the empty weight, testing the accuracy of the speed indicator, checking construction, and performing functional safety checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
