UNS<\/a><\/strong> – The 5K FUN RUN event held on Sunday morning (10\/3\/2024) at the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta’s Lake was exciting. A total of 300 participants from various regions took part in this 5-kilometer run activity. Runners came from diverse backgrounds, such as academia, UNS alumni, running community members, and the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Event Director of the 5K FUN RUN, Adi Dwi Iswanto, explained that this event serves as a prelude to the UNS ULTRA, a 50-kilometer running race. Additionally, the 5K FUN RUN adds excitement to the 48th Dies Natalis of UNS. This is particularly appealing to academic members who enjoy sports and a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative for the 5K FUN RUN came from UNS students, spearheaded by the Garba Wira Bhuana (mountaineering activity unit, or UKM Mahasiswa Pecinta Alam<\/em>) UNS. The route covered by all participants was 5 km, circling around the UNS campus. The purpose of this event was to foster camaraderie among running enthusiasts in the Solo region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was opened by the Acting Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs of UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S., who raised the flag at the starting point. Also present and participating in this event were the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Iwan Wisnu Anggono, S.S., M.Si., Chairman of the Indonesian Commission of Prosecutors, and Professor of the Faculty of Law (FH) UNS, Prof. Dr. Pujiyono Suwadi, S.H., M.H., Faculty Leaders, and among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adi added that all participants had successfully completed the route. There were no winners in the 5K FUN RUN as it served as an invitation for participants to enjoy the green campus of UNS. Moreover, circling the campus could also evoke nostalgia for alumni. The slogan emphasized during the run was “AYO LARI DI UNS<\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization of the 5K FUN RUN also serves as a promotion for the next running event. UNS ULTRA is projected to be an international running competition in celebration of UNS’s 50th anniversary. Further details about UNS ULTRA will be announced by the committee in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adi hopes that through the 5K FUN RUN, all elements, whether from the general public or running enthusiasts, can find a platform. Activities like this provide an answer to the desires of running enthusiasts, especially considering the increasing popularity of the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our hope as organizers is to accommodate all elements of running enthusiasts or those who simply enjoy running as a hobby, addressing the need for running events at UNS, especially now that running has become increasingly popular,” Adi expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not the end; the 5K FUN RUN can be the beginning for anyone looking to pursue their hobby and interest in running. The committee, comprised of UNS students and members of Mapala Garba Wira Bhuana, is also the initiator of the UNS Running Club community. This community regularly holds running activities on Wednesdays and Fridays at 16.00. The starting point is at BRI Corner UNS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
