{"id":38496,"date":"2024-07-23T14:24:22","date_gmt":"2024-07-23T07:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uns.ac.id\/en\/?p=38496"},"modified":"2024-07-23T14:24:23","modified_gmt":"2024-07-23T07:24:23","slug":"uns-history-education-and-learning-research-group-holds-workshop-on-strengthening-digital-skills-for-senior-high-school-history-teachers-in-surakarta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uns.ac.id\/en\/uns-history-education-and-learning-research-group-holds-workshop-on-strengthening-digital-skills-for-senior-high-school-history-teachers-in-surakarta\/","title":{"rendered":"UNS History Education and Learning Research Group Holds Workshop on Strengthening Digital Skills for Senior High School History Teachers in Surakarta"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uns.ac.id\/en\"><strong>UNS<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; The History Education and Learning Research Group (RG) from <a href=\"https:\/\/sejarah.fkip.uns.ac.id\/?_gl=1*81vdg7*_ga*MTk5NjA5MTI5LjE2NjUyOTY2NjI.*_ga_F6CXYGH6G4*MTcyMTcxOTE0OS43Ny4wLjE3MjE3MTkxNDkuNjAuMC4xNjgwNDk5NTc2\">the History Education<\/a> Study Program of <a href=\"http:\/\/fkip.uns.ac.id\">the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP)<\/a> at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta recently conducted a workshop titled &#8220;Strengthening Digital Skills for Senior High School History Teachers in Surakarta to Support the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum.&#8221; The event was attended by 40 history teachers from t<a href=\"http:\/\/mgmpsejarahsurakarta.blogspot.com\/2013\/04\/sk-pengurus-mgmp-sejarah-kota-surakarta.html\">he Surakarta Senior High School History Teacher Association (MGMP)<\/a> on Thursday (11\/7\/2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this workshop, the History Education and Learning Research Group collaborated with two practitioners from PT. Yonkou Edu Tekno, Iwan Maulana, M.Pd., and Taufiq Subhanul Qodr, M.Pd. These practitioners shared their knowledge and skills in creating digital teaching materials and developing virtual tours as a medium for history education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the main sessions began, the Head of the RG, Prof. Dr. Sariyatun, M.Pd., M.Hum., warmly welcomed the participants. She emphasized that this workshop is part of the university&#8217;s threefold mission, particularly in community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We hope that through this workshop, history teachers will be able to master the digital skills needed to help their students learn history in a more engaging and interactive way,&#8221; Prof. Dr. Sariyatun said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the workshop was opened with an introduction from RG member Prof. Dr. Akhmad Arif Musadad, M.Pd. In his introduction, Prof. Arif highlighted the importance of integrating digital technology into history education. He stated that the use of digital technology allows students to explore historical events more deeply and interactively, opening new opportunities for teaching methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There are various benefits to empowering digital technology in history education, such as wider access to learning resources, increased interactivity and student engagement, ease of collaboration and communication, personalized learning, and the development of 21st-century skills,&#8221; Prof. Arif explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main activities of the workshop were divided into two sessions. In the first session, Taufiq Subhanul Qodr, M.Pd., presented the basic knowledge of designing engaging educational media, covering font selection, design, and color usage in educational media. Taufiq detailed the importance of graphic design in creating digital teaching materials, including the use of Canva and the principles of layout design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second session, led by Iwan Maulana, M.Pd., focused on creating digital teaching materials and virtual tours as history learning media. Participants engaged in hands-on practice using <em>Canva<\/em> and <em>Hayzen<\/em> to create digital teaching materials. They also learned to create simple virtual tours using the <em>360 Camera Panorama<\/em> application and the <em>Lapentor<\/em> website. Iwan&#8217;s easy-to-understand explanations enabled participants to grasp the steps involved in making virtual tours, which they can further develop as digital history teaching tools. The history teachers were highly enthusiastic about improving their digital skills for use in their teaching processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following this workshop, it is expected that high school history teachers in Surakarta will have proficient digital skills to create innovative and engaging teaching materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The hope is that teachers will be able to use digital technology to make history lessons more interactive and enjoyable for students. This will make the implementation of the Independent Curriculum (<em>Kurikulum Merdeka<\/em>) more effective, supporting inclusive, student-centered learning goals and preparing them to face the
