UNS<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 The Alumni Association (KA)<\/a> of the Faculty of Medicine (FK)<\/a> at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a National Meeting (Munas) on Saturday (31\/8\/2024). The primary agenda of this meeting was the election of the Chairperson for the 2024-2029 term. The event opened with an Opening Ceremony<\/em> held in the Ballroom of Ki Hadjar Dewantara Tower UNS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Munas was attended by the leadership of FK UNS, along with the board members and members of KA FK<\/a> UNS. Representing the university\u2019s leadership, Prof. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni at UNS, was present. The Director of the Social Security Agency (BPJS) for Health, Prof. dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc., Ph.D., AAK., was also present in the event. The Munas was officially opened with a traditional jar-breaking ceremony, followed by a group photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opening remarks, the Chairperson of KA FK<\/a> for the 2019-2024 term, Sri Pratomo, dr. Sp.B., FINACS, FICS., emphasized the “Three Plus One” essential skills that UNS FK alumni should possess. These include technical skills (hard skills), non-technical skills (soft skills), and ethical conduct in adapting to changing times. The “plus one” is proficiency in technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As doctors, we must inevitably keep up with advancements in science and technology,” Sri Pratomo stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also highlighted the importance of alumni contributing positively to their alma mater. dr. Sri Pratomo reminded us that KA FK UNS<\/a> is a large alumni association, therefore, its impact should be significant. Senior alumni should mentor and guide junior or newly graduated alumni. Strong intergenerational ties among alumni will further strengthen KA FK UNS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alumni play a crucial role in achieving the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of State Universities, particularly the first IKU. The strong alumni network can assist recent FK UNS graduates in securing decent jobs. The experience of alumni can help new graduates enter the workforce, start businesses, or continue their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sri Pratomo also pointed out the lack of doctors involved in politics. He emphasized that doctors should take part in shaping health regulations and professional standards within legislative bodies, hoping that FK UNS alumni will contribute to this cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paramasari Dirgahayu, dr., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Affairs at FK UNS, expressed her gratitude for the contributions of FK UNS alumni at national and international levels. She affirmed that alumni achievements are a source of pride for the faculty, in line with the faculty\u2019s motto, “FK UNS Semakin Menyala<\/em>” (FK UNS Shines Brighter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dody, representing the university\u2019s leadership, expressed his hope that the Munas would lead to the formation of an alumni board with positive and innovative programs. He emphasized the various roles that alumni can play for UNS, particularly in accreditation processes at the university, faculty, and program levels. Alumni who are now working in various institutions can also facilitate partnerships between UNS and external parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Through this Munas, we can further strengthen the Faculty of Medicine at UNS<\/a> in improving academic and non-academic quality,” Prof. Dody said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Munas continued with a keynote speaking<\/em> by Prof. Ali Ghufron on the topic “Opportunities and Challenges of Non-National Health Insurance Services in Developing Health Tourism in Indonesia.” The Opening Ceremony concluded with a training session by Ni Ketut Sri Sumardhani on “Enhancing the Professional Appeal of Doctors through Public Speaking.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
