UNS<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 The Minister of National Development Planning\/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas)<\/a>, Prof. Dr. Rachmat Pambudy, held an official visit to Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. The minister, accompanied by his delegation, was warmly welcomed by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr. M.Si., at the Ki Hadjar Dewantara UNS Tower on Wednesday (15\/1\/2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit began with a presentation highlighting UNS\u2019s flagship programs that contribute to sustainable development, particularly in research and community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr. M.Si., stated that UNS is committed to becoming a center of excellence in science, technology, and the arts at the international level, rooted in national cultural values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCurrently, UNS has 76.153 students, 1.980 lecturers, and 1.831 administrative staff spread across 14 faculties and 2 schools. We also have three Centers of Excellence in Science and Technology (PUI), namely the Center for Electric Energy Storage Technology, the Javanology Center, and the Center for Fintech and Banking. In addition, UNS operates 24 study centers and the UNS Hospital, which has been serving the community since 2016,\u201d Prof. Hartono explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Hartono emphasized UNS\u2019s commitment to collaborating with the government to achieve inclusive and sustainable development goals. \u201cWe are ready to support various government programs through applicable research and impactful community service programs,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Rachmat Pambudy highlighted the vital role of higher education institutions in shaping a generation capable of innovation and contributing to national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs one of Indonesia\u2019s leading universities, UNS holds significant potential to produce research and technology that can support national development policies,\u201d Prof. Rahmat said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Rachmat also expressed his appreciation for UNS\u2019s initiatives to enhance the quality of education and research at the national level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit included discussions on potential collaborations between UNS and Bappenas, focusing on research-based development programs and the development of competent human resources across various fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBappenas and UNS previously established a Memorandum of Understanding, Number NKB\/14\/SES\/03\/2020 and Number 22\/UN27\/KS\/2020, valid until March 30, 2025. As it nears expiration, we can look into renewing it. We hope this collaboration goes beyond mere formalities and is followed by concrete actions,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs between UNS and the Minister of National Development Planning, followed by a group photo session featuring UNS leadership and the ministerial delegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
