UNS<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has officially entered into a strategic partnership with PT Indra Eramulti Logam Industri (IMLI)<\/a>, as marked by the signing of two cooperation agreements on Friday (17\/1\/2025). The event, attended by leaders from both institutions, signifies a significant step in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, particularly in the areas of research, human resource development, and clean energy initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing UNS were Vice Rector for Academic and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si., M.Si.; Head of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM)<\/a>, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Ketut Rachmi Handayani, S.H., M.M.; LPPM Secretary, Dr. Dimas Rahadian Aji Muhammad, S.T.P., M.Sc.; and Director of Planning, Cooperation, Internationalization, and Reputation, Ibrahim Fatwa Wijaya, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. On behalf of IMLI, the event was attended by Chief Executive Technology Officer Surya Widada, accompanied by Ocky Yovan Kiken and Liliek Subiyakto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scope of Cooperation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The agreements consist of a collaboration between UNS and IMLI and another between LPPM UNS and IMLI. The partnership between UNS and IMLI covers areas such as research and community service, the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka<\/em> (MBKM) program, and human resource development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the cooperation between LPPM UNS and IMLI includes material verification in the production process, evaluation of material utilization according to company standards, and preparation of verification reports for further assessment. Additionally, the agreements include a specific contract focusing on material usage verification within the production process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her remarks, Prof. Fitria Rahmawati stated that this collaboration builds on the 2022 initiative by the Clean Energy Task Force of the UNS Board of Professors. IMLI\u2019s business model, which emphasizes recycling, aligns with UNS\u2019s clean energy vision. Both institutions have conducted mutual visits over the years to explore potential collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“IMLI was chosen because its recycling-based business model, producing metals from recycled materials, aligns with UNS\u2019s vision of clean energy,” Prof. Fitria explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also highlighted the tangible outcomes of this partnership, such as the internship opportunities. UNS has facilitated students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the Faculty of Engineering (FT). These students gained hands-on experience through fieldwork at IMLI. Additionally, the Matching Fund program, led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Kristiawan, S.T., M.T., has been successfully implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In the future, this collaboration will be further strengthened through activities such as research, internships, and practitioner teaching programs,” she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMLI’s Chief Executive Technology Officer, Surya Widada, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, praising UNS as a trusted institution to act as a material verifier in IMLI\u2019s production processes. He commended UNS for its advanced knowledge and its alignment with IMLI\u2019s vision for clean energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We see UNS as a strategic partner with strengths in scientific expertise. Sharing the same vision of clean energy, we trust UNS to provide reliable verification for our production processes, particularly in recycling-based smelter operations,” Surya stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaboration is expected to benefit both parties in the academic and industrial realms. By combining UNS\u2019s expertise as a leading higher education institution with IMLI\u2019s experience in recycling-based metal industries, this partnership represents a significant milestone in advancing clean energy and sustainability initiatives.
