UNS<\/a> \u2013<\/strong> The AppliedHE<\/a> X UNS event brought together education and industry leaders to discuss sustainable transportation on Monday (24\/2\/2025). Held at the InterContinental Bali Resort, the event carried the theme “Where Education Meets Industry for a Future that Works.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Importance of Quadruple Helix Collaboration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the speakers is Rosma Handayani. She is the Managing Director of Human Capital & General Affairs at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI, Indonesian Railway Company<\/em>)<\/a>. She emphasized the vital role of collaboration between government, academia, the community, and industry, known as the Quadruple Helix. She highlighted that this approach fosters an innovative and competitive transportation ecosystem in a globalized world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Integrating education, industry, government, and the community prepares a workforce for future transportation challenges. This collaboration is crucial for driving innovation and ensuring sustainable mobility for the public,” Rosma stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aligning Collaboration with Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The discussion also linked cross-sector collaboration to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17<\/a>: ‘Partnerships for the Goals.’ KAI underscored that stronger ties with educational institutions accelerate sustainability efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Through human resource development, international training, and technological innovation, we can advance sustainability goals more efficiently. Achieving this requires multi-sector collaboration,” Rosma explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KAI\u2019s Vision for Sustainable Transportation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

PT KAI also outlined its strategic vision for 2025-2029, focusing on sustainable transportation and societal well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Transformation relies on collaboration. By working together, we can modernize Indonesia’s railway system and enhance its sustainability,” Rosma concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening the Link Between Education and Industry<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This event reinforced the importance of education-industry partnerships as investments in the future. These collaborations align with market demands and sustainable development objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNS has integrated the Link & Match concept into its curriculum to produce job-ready graduates. UNS encourages these graduates to create new employment opportunities. Its partnership with industry players like KAI demonstrates UNS\u2019s commitment to developing a competitive workforce, aligning with SDG 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
