UNS<\/a><\/strong>– To strengthen financial literacy, the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS)<\/a> held the Literasi Keuangan Indonesia Terdepan (LIKE IT) x Kampung Edukasi LPS program. This time, LIKE IT took place at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS)<\/a> Surakarta, carrying the theme \u201cSelf-Leadership in Finance.\u201d The event was held on Saturday (October 18, 2025) at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium, UNS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event aimed to promote financial literacy among students and the public through collaboration between LPS, the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia (BI), and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The four institutions are part of the Coordination Forum for Development Financing through the Financial Market (FK-PPPK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Anggito Abimanyu, M.Sc., Chairperson of the LPS Board of Commissioners, emphasized the importance of mastering self-control in managing finances. He noted that the most challenging aspect of financial management often lies in overcoming one\u2019s own ego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday, many people fall into FOMO and YOLO behaviors. We need to be wiser in distinguishing between needs and wants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Anggito also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and OJK for their continued collaboration in running the LIKE IT program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis initiative reflects our shared responsibility to ensure that the public and younger generation receive proper financial education, so that they will be more knowledgeable in managing their finances wisely and securely,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LIKE IT program at UNS attracted around 1,500 participants, including students, faculty members, and university leaders such as the Rector, Vice Rectors, Deans, Heads of Study Programs, and lecturers. The overarching theme for this year\u2019s LIKE IT program is \u201cFinancially Independent Young Generation towards Golden Indonesia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNS holds a distinctive position as the first university in Indonesia to offer a course on Deposit Insurance and Financial System Stability. This academic commitment has driven LPS and UNS to strengthen their partnership, which has been ongoing since 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUNS is one of the most active universities in collaborating with LPS\u2014not only in academic programs, but also through many alumni who now serve in key positions within LPS,\u201d Prof. Anggito said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., expressed his gratitude and appreciation to LPS for choosing UNS as a partner in hosting this educational initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is an honor for UNS to be part of the national financial literacy movement initiated by the FK-PPPK, which brings together LPS, Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Finance, and the Financial Services Authority,\u201d said Prof. Hartono.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, the LIKE IT program serves as a concrete step in deepening public understanding of financial literacy, particularly among young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership between UNS and LPS has grown over more than a decade, producing collaborative research, international journal publications, and curriculum development in the area of deposit insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe take pride that in 2024, UNS became the national pioneer in implementing deposit insurance education across six study programs in four faculties and schools. This reflects UNS\u2019s commitment to strengthening students\u2019 financial competence and expanding the university\u2019s academic contribution to public policy,\u201d Prof. Hartono explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further noted that this collaboration aligns with UNS\u2019s strategic plan, DREAMTEAM, particularly the ACTIVE value, which emphasizes proactive collaboration with national and international partners, adaptive learning, and socially relevant innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough this spirit, our partnership with LPS is not merely a program-based cooperation but a tangible implementation of UNS\u2019s strategy toward global reputation and national impact,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Hartono closed his remarks by expressing hope for continued synergy between UNS and LPS. \u201cI hope today\u2019s LIKE IT x Kampung Edukasi LPS event becomes an inspiring moment for UNS students and all participants to gain new insights and motivation to become architects of Indonesia\u2019s inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economy, in pursuit of the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, 1,500 UNS students received presentations from several key speakers, including Ahmad Subhan (Director of Financial System Stability Analysis Group, LPS); Erawati (Director of Financial Profession Development and Supervision, Directorate General of Financial Sector Stability and Development, Ministry of Finance); Arief Rachman (Director of Financial Market Development Department, Bank Indonesia); and Wahyu Budi Satriyo (Director of Integrated Financial Sector Policy, Financial Services Authority).
