UNS<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Following the Cooperation Agreement between the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan\/LPS) and Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta on competency development and the dissemination of LPS\u2019 functions, duties, and authority, which was officially signed on 18 October 2025, both institutions have reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the partnership through various concrete programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this commitment, LPS and UNS officially held an implementation ceremony for the cooperation on Friday (27\/2\/2026). The event took place at the Innovation and Creativity Center of Universitas Gadjah Mada<\/a> (UGM), alongside a similar implementation ceremony between LPS and UGM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a tangible realization of the collaboration, LPS awarded scholarships to 20 UNS students, covering tuition fees as well as living allowances. This scholarship program is expected to support the development of high-quality human resources, particularly in the fields of economics, finance, and public policy that are closely related to the roles and functions of LPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the scholarship program, UNS was also appointed as one of four strategic university partners of LPS in conducting joint research utilizing LPS\u2019 big data resources. Besides UNS, the other three universities involved in this collaborative research initiative are Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), the University of Indonesia (UI), and IPB University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This research collaboration is expected to produce strong data-driven studies that can contribute to strengthening Indonesia\u2019s national financial system and improving deposit insurance policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of LPS, Prof. Anggito Abimanyu, stated in his remarks that UNS is one of LPS\u2019 strategic university partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUNS has strong academic excellence, particularly because several of its study programs have integrated topics related to deposit insurance and financial system stability into their curriculum,\u201d explained Prof. Anggito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony, UNS was represented by Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Internationalization, and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., accompanied by three UNS students who were recipients of the LPS scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Irwan stated that the collaboration between UNS and LPS has been established since 2013 and has consistently produced various strategic outcomes, ranging from academic activities and joint research to student capacity-building programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe hope that this implementation of cooperation will further strengthen the synergy between academia and state institutions in producing excellent human resources and high-quality research that can make a real contribution to society,\u201d said Prof. Irwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
