For developing student creativity and innovation embodied in the design of products or equipment that can be useful in industry including manufacturing and services industry, Industrial Engineering Students Association Universitas Sebelas Maret (HMTI UNS) cooperating with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) will hold The 2nd Design Competition for Industrial System and Environment (DESCOMFIRST) 2017.
Due to the fierce competition regarding to free market in globalization era nowadays, Innovation of Industrial Equipment is taken up as the theme in the competition in which the sub themes are Manual Material Handling, Safety Equipment, and Industrial Tools. Industrial equipment is supportive tool in manufacture and service industry to simplify work not only for large-scale industry but also the housing and medium-scale industries. Innovation of industrial equipment aimed to improve productivity and efficiency in terms of time, space, and cost. The tool is used to improve the performances for an optimal productivity.
The competition which invites both domestic and international students will be opened for registration and proposal submission on 31st December 2016 in which the main stage will be on 5th-6th May 2017.Indonesian participants are required to send the documents by mail received by the committee no later than 31st December 2016 to the secretariat of Industrial Engineering Students Association (HMTI).
