Meaning of UNS Logo

The anatomy of the UNS emblem, shaped like a flower, symbolizes the Indonesian nation. The three flower petals represent the embodiment of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, while the five-pointed serrations on the lower petal symbolize the five principles of Pancasila. The continuous outer line illustrates the unity and solidarity of the UNS community.

The center of the emblem features a sage (Wiku) with a flame at the center of its face, symbolizing the radiance of thoughts filled with wisdom, insight, and noble character, as well as the eternal light of knowledge.

The circular arrangement of words represents a Candra Sengkala, each carrying a specific meaning: Mangesti represents the number 8, Luhur represents the number 0, Ambangun represents the number 9, and Nagara represents the number 1. When read in reverse, it forms 1908, the Javanese year corresponding to 1976 AD, the founding year of UNS. This phrase is designed in the shape of a praba, a circular and radiant halo, symbolizing the brilliance of purity and noble character.

The sky blue color symbolizes a pledge of loyalty and devotion to the nation, the people, and the pursuit of knowledge.

Every use of the Universitas Sebelas Maret emblem must strictly and consistently adhere to the guidelines to maintain its authenticity, sanctity, and institutional image in accordance with UNS Branding.
