UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta through International Office opened the registration for UNS Scholarship program for academic year 2017/2018. The online application submission was started in May up to June. Selection process has been started in the beginning of July. A total of 21 prospective students from 4 countries — Timor Leste, Turkmenistan, China, and Thailand — have been considered qualified for the administration stage and were interviewed on July 21st 2017.
Head of International Office M. Taufiq al Makmun pointed out that UNS Scholarship is a scholarship program which covers the tuition fee specially for foreign citizens.
“We started the online registration for the program in May-June. The scholarship is available for all departments except Medical Education. There are 21 foreign prospective students joining the selection process,” Taufiq stated.
The selection interviews were conducted directly both face-to-face or through video call. Prospective students must go through two interview stages: first stage with the faculty they chose regarding academic matters and the second stage with the International Office regarding their living skills and adaptability.
Faculties chosen by these prospective international students are Cultural Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Natural Science, Economics and Business, Social and Political Science, Arts and Design, and Teacher Training and Education.
Not only through scholarship program, an international student candidate even registered through self-funded admission in Faculty of Medicine. Foreign students interested to continue their studies in UNS are usually from the region of Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe. humas-red.uns/Ang/Hfz/Eln
