UNS – Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Ravik Karsidi officially discharged Bengawan Team to join the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2018 Championship held at Changi Exhibition Center, Singapore on March 8-11, 2018. This discharge was held at the Dr. Prakosa Building, Monday (19/2/2018).
Shell Eco-Marathon is a competition sponsored by Shell for students around the world, where the participants challenged to build vehicles with maximum fuel efficiency. UNS will send two teams, namely Bengawan Team 1 with gasoline fuel and Bengawan Team 2 with diesel fuel. Both teams will follow the competition in the category of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE).
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Sholihin As’ad who also attended the event said that the products of Bengawan Team is the result of research from students and lecturers who is aimed at realizing energy-efficient cars.
“This is a research done by students and also lecturers who joined in a team to realize energy-efficient cars and also the most efficient cars for future vehicles,” said Sholihin.
“Your friends here are a lot, but later on the competition you all only consist of twenty people. Therefore, you must support each other and keep up the team’s spirit,” said Ravik to support the team. humas-red.uns/Sav/Dty
