UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held the fourth Ramadhan Teaching on Wednesday (5/5/2021). The teaching is a routine event held once a week during the Ramadhan. Previously, the event was held in various faculties such as FKOR, FT, and FISIP. As for the final event, the Ramadhan Teaching was held in the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNS, which was conducted virtually through Zoom Cloud Meetings. Attending the event were the UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, all UNS Vice-Rector, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Prof. Bandi, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, and Prof. Sajidan. Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto, as the Dean of FEB UNS, also attend the teaching together with the Deans from other Faculties, Head of Unit, and PAI UNS Secretary.
Prof. Izza Mafruhah, as the FEB UNS Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, leads the event, with a material delivered by Ustadz Prof. Sutarno. Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto states that the topic of this Fourth Teaching is ‘The Covid-19 Pandemic from Islamic Perspective.’ This topic is interesting because from the last year until now, the Covid-19 pandemic hit various countries in the world. The pandemic does affect not only the health sector but also the economic sector, finance, education, psychological, political, and social.
The pandemic also affects religious activities where most mosque’s capacity must be reduced to prevent transmission. This condition also applies to the invitation for Silaturahim, Hajj, and Umrah that should be limited for a while.
“These conditions put a twist on our logic. However, this evening all of us will be enlightened by ‘wedar sabda tama Bapa’ from Ustadz Prof. Sutarno.” Ujar Prof. Djoko.
Other than Prof. Djoko, Rektor UNS, Prof. Jamal also appreciates the organization of the Ramadhan Teaching, stating that Prof. Sutarno is an interesting speaker as he can analyze the Covid-19 pandemic from an Islamic perspective. “Alhamdulillah, this evening, we earn an experience on how to prevent the Coronavirus Disease 2019 and to understand its development patterns,” Prof. Jamal states.
The Ramadan Teaching 1442 H is expected to bring understanding and bring additional spirit for the UNS academic members. Moreover, UNS Ramadhan Teaching also aims to encourage UNS to reach Top 500 Global University as mandated by PTNBH. Humas UNS
