UNS — The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), Nadiem Makarim, attended the International Conference on Teacher Training and Education (ICTTE). This conference was held by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta online on Wednesday (25/8/2021) and Thursday (26/8/2021). In his opening remark, Nadiem technology, no matter how advanced and the fastest internet connection possible.
“Because teachers care about their students and love to teach, those are what technology lack in. that is the essence of learning, soul connection between learner and educators,” he stated.
However, he added that the pandemic has made people realize the importance of technology utilization and programs to improve competencies and teacher’s professionalism.
“We want those Indonesian teachers to no longer join seminars or training that are far from home to school. We want beneficial materials to be accessible wherever and whenever easily through digital platforms,” Nadiem explained.
To this day, Kemdikbudristek is developing several platforms for teachers to learn and share. The platform has already been used by more than 7 million educators all over Indonesia. The Ministry also continues its training program for activator teachers and targets to graduate 405 activator teachers.
Nadiem also added that students would experience more elaborate challenges than before. Teachers are expected to prepare their students to learn according to their ability through the means they enjoy to prepare them for the changes.
At the end of this remark, Nadiem reminded the teachers to continue learning as the future of Indonesia.
“Let’s shape the long life learner who continues to work together to achieve freedom in learning,” he invited the participants. Humas UNS
