UNS — Brahmahardhika Nature Lover Student of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) held a blood donation program “Setetes Darah Sejuta Harapan” (a drop of blood for a million of hopes). The blood donation program was opened for UNS students and community members in the lobby of Building D FKIP UNS under a strict health protocol.
Based on the news release received by the uns.ac.id team on Thursday (30/12/2021), the Chief of Brahmahardhika, Muhammad Iqbal, stated that this blood donation event is a scheduled program once every three months, but was just held recently due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“As a form of our services for the community. This blood donation event is the first blood donation event from Brahmahardhika in 2021/2022,” Iqbal stated.
Iqbal added that the participants of the event were community members around UNS who passed PMI screening criteria.
“The blood donation could be performed by community members, FKIP academic members such as students, faculty members, staff, and other people who want to be a donor,” he explained.
With the blood donation program held on Friday (24/12/2021), Iqbal hoped that it could raise awareness in the community to be more compassionate with others.
“Hopefully, the community will be more open or maybe more compassionate with others that out there many people are needing us, including through this blood donation,” he stated. Humas UNS
