UNS — The Chairman of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, M.Sc., visited the Center for Excellence (PUI-PT) of Electrical Energy Storage Technology (PUI Lithium Battery) UNS on Friday (29/10/2021). In his visit, Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, M.Sc., and entourage were welcomed directly by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, and the Chief of PUI Lithium Battery UNS, Prof. Agus Purwanto.
In his remark, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, thanked the Chairman of BRIN and entourage to PUI Lithium Battery UNS. “It is our pride to be visited by the Chairman of BRIN,” Prof. Kuncoro added.
On the occasion, Prof. Kuncoro shared that UNS has had its status as Public University with Legal Entity (PTNBH) since 6 October 2020. UNS also received an award for the highest Key Performance Indicators (IKU) for Public University (PTN) in 2020/2021.
“Besides PUI Lithium Battery, we also have other two PUIs, PUI Javanologi and PUI Center for Fintech and Banking (Fintech Center),” Prof. Kuncoro added.
Through the visit from the Chairman of BRIN and entourage, Prof. Kuncoro hoped for direction for the development of PUI Lithium Battery in the future.
The Chairman of BRIN, Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, M.Sc., stated in his remark after a discussion and went around PUI Lithium Battery and observed the lithium battery production process that UNS’ lithium battery production process is good.
“In my opinion, it is good and quite advanced. Even though there are possibilities of improvement, especially on testing for battery with large capacity and on raw material, and this will be a part of BRIN future plans,” Dr. Handoko stated.
After the visit, Dr. Handoko stated that there were follow-ups for the activity. BRIN opens various grants for research, human resources research, and research mobility, that are not limited to BRIN members. “Thus, this can be used for researchers in UNS, especially in PUI Lithium Battery,” he concluded.
