UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta is committed to moving closer to the Business World and Industrial World (DUDI), as observed in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNS and PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. This collaboration involves the implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma and Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program. The signing ceremony was held in Ruang Sidang (Meeting Room) 2 dr. Prakosa Building UNS, Saturday (27/3/2021).
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, directly led the signing ceremony accompanied Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Sajidan, M.Si., while PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, was represented by its President Director, Ir. Irfan Setiaputra and the Director for Finance, Dr. Prasetio, S.E, M.H. The Rector of UNS delivered a warm welcome to PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. for providing the opportunity for UNS to collaborate with Indonesia flag carrier airline.
“This Memorandum of Understanding is like akad nikah (marriage contract). Hopefully, with this (collaboration) we can shape soleh and solehah (pious) And certainly, this collaboration can bring added value for UNS and vice versa, providing added value for PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk,” Prof. Jamal stated.
The UNS Rector added that the collaboration with PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is in line with the Key Performance Indicator (IKU) from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). Prof. Jamal also hopes that UNS students can have an internship program in Garuda Indonesia, under this collaboration. “We are also open with PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk President Director wants to share his knowledge in UNS. I also entrusted my students, hopefully, to be part of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, in domestic and international operations. To all Deans, Head of Programs in UNS, please follow-up this MoU,” Prof. Jamal added.
PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., President Director, Ir. Irfan Setiaputra stated that it is an honor to be able to visit UNS. “We are from PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, support the implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma in the Indonesian universities, and UNS is the first,” Irfan explained.
Irfan added that the young generation, in this context, university graduates have a high opportunity to join PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and its subsidiaries. He also thanked UNS for offering the collaboration. “Hopefully, the good intention in this collaboration could benefit both parties,” Irfan stated.
Before the signing of MoU, the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Ir. Irfan Setiaputra and Director of Finance PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Dr. Prasetio, S.E, M.H. delivered a general lecture to 350 UNS students through offline and online event. Humas UNS
