UNS — Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held fundraising on Tuesday (16/2/2021) to help the victims of natural disasters in the new year of 2021 that hit several regions in Indonesia.
Through the ‘A committee’, the event lead by Indriyani Sapta Kunta succeeded in collecting IDR 36,750,000 relief fund donations. This fund will be allocated to the people affected by the earthquake in West Sulawesi and the flood in South Kalimantan, Kudus City, and Pekalongan, Central Java.
According to Indriyani, the committee consists of DWP in Faculty of Sports, University Central Office, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Cultural Studies, UNS Hospital, and UNS Postgraduate School.
In this fundraising event, DWP collaborated with LAZIS UNS as the distributing committee for the aids allocated to Kudus and Pekalongan, Central Java. The aids for this region are IDR 12,500,000 cash, 100 blankets, baby oil, and cajuput oil, handed by the Head of DWP UNS, Budi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho, to LAZIS UNS in the DWP UNS Secretariat.
“Alhamdulillah, thank you to DWP UNS members who have shared with our fellow who needs our help,” Budi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho said.
The donation for earthquake victims in Majene Mamuju, Ulumanda Subdistrict in West Sulawesi, and floods in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan was conducted in January.
