UNS — Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held Jumat Berbagi event in DWP UNS Secretariat on Friday (26/11/2021).
The Chairwoman of DWP UNS, Budhi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho, accompanied by Andam Dewi Ahmad Yunus, Lis Hartati Bandi, Arlin Kuncoro Diharjo, and Nanik Murti Sajidan, stated in between the event that Jumat Berbagi is a routine schedule of DWP UNS twice a month.
“This (Jumat Berbagi) is held regularly. Starting from the members of DWP UNS set aside the changes from their grocery money that are collected in a piggy bank. Then the money in the piggy bank is collected to be used in the Jumat Berbagi event like this. There is also a direct grant from donors for Jumat Berbagi,” Budhi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho explained.
On Friday (26/11/2021), DWP UNS prepared 150 rice boxes to be shared with the janitors on the UNS campus. “Usually, Jumat Berbagi is held on the second and fourth week,” she added.
Budhi hoped that Jumat Berbagi could benefit other people. “Because it is still in Covid-19 pandemic, Jumat Berbagi program is still conducted under a strict health protocol,” she said.
After distributing the rice boxes, the program was followed with training on decorating tumpeng and creating decorations from vegetables. “Fortunately, there is a DWP UNS member who is creative in making tumpeng decorations from vegetables, the wife of the Dean of Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) UNS, Ibu Rahmanu. So DWP UNS members after Jumat Berbagi participated in this training,” Budhi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho stated.
