UNS — Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held low price bazaar for janitorial officers in UNS campus. In the bazaar, DWP UNS sells appropriate clothes at a very low price.
The Chief of DWP UP Kantor Pusat UNS, Andam Dewi Ahmad Yunus, stated that in commemorating Batik Day on 2 October, the Public Relations Office and Media UNS collected used batik from faculty members and academic staff in UNS. The resulting collection was distributed to each faculty, and the rest were used in the bazaar.
“DWP helped to distribute it to those in need,” Andam Dewi explained in the Low Price Bazaar at the eastern parking area of G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS, Friday (29/10/2021).
The sales of these batiks will be used to fund Jumat Berkah (Blessed Friday) DWP UNS activity. “The sales will be donated through Jumat Berkah DWP UNS that we held every Friday,” she added.
Another DWP UNS managing committee, Nanik Sajidan, added that Jumat Berkah had been held regularly. “We have a program that keeps aside of our daily grocery money. Then the money is used for Jumat Berkah activities,” Nanik stated.
Through Jumat Berkah, DWP UNS hoped to benefit the surrounding community. “Through Jumat Berkah hopefully, it could help others. And this is a form of DWP UNS care for the environment,” she concluded. Humas UNS
