UNS — The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta through the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) released specialist doctors who had graduated from FK UNS. This event was attended by the Interim Vice Rector for Research and Innovation UNS, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T., the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K); the Interim Vice Dean of FK UNS, the Vice Director for General and Finance of the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. Moewardi Surakarta, dr. Hamza Brotherhood; the Vice Director for Finance and Human Resources of UNS Hospital, Dr. Jaka Winarna, M.Si., Ak; and all the Heads of the FK UNS PPDS Study Program at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine UNS, Friday (23/6/2023).

For the release of specialist doctors for the June 2023 period, FK UNS released 21 PPDS students. From the 21 participants, two were recipients of the Ministry of Health’s Study Assignment Scholarship, and to date there are 329 graduates who have received the Ministry of Health’s Study Assignment Scholarship.

Based on the academic report read by the Interim Vice Dean of Human Resources, Finance and Logistics FK UNS, Dr. Diah Kurnia Mirawati, dr., Sp.S (K), 21 release participants were identified, consisting of 5 people from the Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Study Program, 5 people from the Pediatrics Study Program, 4 people from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Study Program, 3 people from the Psychiatry Study Program, 2 people from the Radiology Study Program and 2 people from the Internal Medicine Study Program.

In this release there were participants with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved by Aldi Firmansyah, dr., Sp.O.G with a GPA of 3.87 from the Obstetrics and Gynecology PPDS Study Program. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate at the Release of PPDS this time was Nabila Nur Bilqis Islamy, dr., Sp.K.J. from the PPDS Psychiatry Study Program with an age of 30 years and 6 months at graduation.

dr. Aldi Firmansyah, Sp.O.G., representing the graduates, in his speech felt proud to be a student at FK UNS and expressed his gratitude for all the guidance and teaching given by the campus during the process of studying.

 “Today proves that our persistence and hard work so far can produce good results. On this occasion, we would like to express our highest gratitude and appreciation to our teachers for the guidance and knowledge they have provided so far,” dr. Aldi explained.

The Vice Director of General and Finance RSUD Dr. Moewardi, dr. Hamzah congratulated the graduates of specialist doctors. “Congratulations on your graduation. Our message for colleagues is to apply their knowledge and devote themselves to their respective areas. What’s good at RSUD Dr. Moewardi, please take and use, and leave anything that is bad. We are also grateful to the new medical specialists who have contributed to advancing RSUD Dr. Moewardi in carrying out the service so far,” he said.

In his speech, the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono said that it is time for specialist doctors who have just been appointed to be ready for the many challenges ahead of them.

“These new specialist doctors must be ready to face challenges by preparing knowledge, skills, and insight,” Prof. Reviono said.

Besides that, Prof. Reviono also advised that the new specialist doctors who are now ready to face competition with doctors from abroad who enter Indonesia.

“You all have to be prepared for that. Don’t be afraid because we already have a very good stock of knowledge besides the benefits of culture that we already understand about Indonesian society,” he continued.

Prof. Reviono also advised that these new specialist doctors could maintain the good name of UNS and continue to maintain good friendships with colleagues and with their alma mater.

With the release of specialist doctors for the June 2023 period, FK UNS since its establishment in 1976 has graduated 1.697 specialist doctors. The alumni are scattered throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions in the fields of health services, education, research, as well as specialist doctors in the government, private sector, TNI/POLRI and others.
